2023: Aesthetic Experiments & Lessons
In 2023, I was working primarily in digital collage, drawing from online found media and Adobe Stock imagery. These works emerged during a difficult period, financially and creatively, and, in many ways, reflect that. I was making art for others more than for myself, chasing visual impact over deeper intent. While a few pieces stand out for their composition or boldness, they often lean more toward surface aesthetics than lasting meaning.
Still, this body of work has its place. I sold a handful of prints and, more importantly, sharpened my digital editing skills considerably. Looking back, this phase taught me what I don’t want to make, and helped clarify what truly matters in my creative practice moving forward.
