Echoes of Seven
Photographed and digitally manipulated collage, 2024

This image wouldn’t leave me alone; it found its voice in The In-Between Room.

Echoes of Seven combines fragments of mid‑century romance imagery, found text, and layered architectural spaces to explore how childhood memory haunts adult narratives. A single line - “What a shame that a child of seven should look so sad” - floats between the figures, disrupting the scripted embrace with a trace of loss and dissonance.

By weaving together found media, the work evokes a dreamlike space where nostalgia meets unease, and where echoes of early experiences resurface.
